Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B with a distinctive mix. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway and The Democratic National Convention to the European party and concert scenes. Sunshine's real her name as Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her professional career singing and playing piano at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first track to include her voice was called Stalk You an exclusive house 12 that was released exclusively in Japan The song has been remixed by a variety of producers, and has become a part of her live performance. Her voice is also included on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as Choral Director of Dreamgirls, the theatre production in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during the four shows per day of 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later asked to sing in the presence of the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
